The App - A system built for foster care families
As part of the Westmont College Downtown Program, I completed an internship where I designed and pitched an app prototype to Santa Barbara County to improve resource delivery for foster care families. The app focuses on supporting low-income families by providing essential services like support groups, training, and child care, with bilingual capabilities to address language barriers. The project received funding from local investors and was recognized as the leading project of the year by Westmont College, highlighting its potential impact on the foster care system.
The app provides a scalable solution for foster care organizations to assist low-income families by answering common questions, such as finding nearby transit, understanding training requirements, and accessing healthcare. Unlike other apps that focus on games and activities, this app aims to improve practical resource delivery. We plan to expand the app to foster care organizations across California within five years and nationwide within ten. By partnering with local county foster care systems, the app will support strong family foundations and maintain bonds between parents and children.
Available on the Apple Store & Android Google Play.

I Learned It From My Dad: Words of Wisdom from a Middle Eastern Father
Hardcover – December 11, 2022
Intended to be a coffee table read, this piece of writing is a humourous, yet, valuable collection of advice my dad has given me over the past 20 years. During my teenage years, I thought some of the statements my father told me were complete bs. Well maybe it was my teen-angst at the time, but later on, I came to find that these tips were actually true, useful, and relatable. Prime enlightenment for someone in their mid-20s living in NYC.
